A major rescue operation is under way in the North Sea tonight following the a collision between two cargo vessels.
The vehicle Carrier Baltic Ace is reported to have sunk.
Dutch coastguard helicopters and lifeboats are on the scene and have winched some crew members to safety from the vessels life rafts.

Rescue operations are reportedly hampered by high seas and freezing water in the area.

Corvus J was on her way from Grangemouth, Scotland to the port of Antwerp in Belgium.
