The cruise liner Carnival Triumph is adrift in the Gulf of Mexico following an engine room fire that has left her without propulsion.
The fire was quickly extinguished and none of the ship’s 4,229 passengers and crew were injured.
Emergency generators are providing power to the vessel which is now drifting off the Yucatan peninsula, Mexico.
The screenshot below, from our shipfinder.co live vessel tracker, shows the vessel leaving Cozumel yesterday bound for her home port of Galveston, TX.
Carnival Triumph is now expected to be towed to the nearest port of Progreso, Mexico and is likely to arrive on Wednesday.
A second Carnival cruise ship, Carnival Elation, left New Orleans with addition food and supplies for the stricken liner.
