Ferry hits dock in Harwich

The ferry Sirena Seaways carrying 400 passengers and their vehicles hit the dockside at Harwich, Essex, England this afternoon.

A lifeboat was launched and the  Essex Fire and Rescue Services rushed to the scene.

The ferry, operated by DFDS Seaways,  is reported to be holed under the water line but has been stabilised by the crew.

No injuries have been reported and passengers are expected to be able to disembark via ramps.

The ferry had travelled from Esbjerg in Denmark and was docking shortly after 12:00 local time when the incident occurred.
